Fish Puffs. This is another successful recipe I have found suitable for HFI and low enough starch for our problem too. Fish puffs by Charliemeg, on Flickr Serves 4 as a starter or 3 as a main course. Ingredients:225g / 8oz white fish 150ml / ΒΌ pint milk 50g / 2oz self-raising flour (works well with gluten free flour if needed) 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley Salt and pepper to season 2 beaten eggs Deep fat for frying Method:1. Poach fish in milk almost to cover. It will take 10 to 15 minutes depending on thickness of fish. Then drain fish, saving the liquid. 2. Flake fish in a basin with 2 tablespoons of the liquid. Mix in flour, parsley, seasoning. 3. Mix in beaten egg and 2 to 3 tablespoons of cooking liquid to make a soft consistency. 4. Deep-fry in hot oil, dropping mixture in a teaspoon at a time, fry until golden brown, turning from time to time, about 3 to 4 minutes. 5. Serve with homemade chips and safe vegetables and a buttery mayonnaise. 6. You can flavour them with cayenne pepper if that is safe for you for a slightly stronger flavour.
