OK now the facts and information is finally coming out! Eating sugar is an addiction and really bad for EVERYONE not just HFI people. In the UK our top government medical officer has now reduced the recommended maximum amount of sugar in anyone's diet to 25 g a day! For an Adult that is 5 teaspoons full. A small tin of coke has 6 spoons of sugar in it.. 30g Other medical research has proven that people with high blood sugar levels look on average 4 years older than people with "normal" blood sugar levels. Research over the last 25 years on low calorific diets has proven that if we keep our blood sugar levels low and insulin levels stable we can expect to live for up to 25 years longer than the national average and more importantly age related illnesses are delayed by up to 25 years also. Recent research has shown that 85% of all cancers are insulin dependant. So by adopting a low glycemic index diet (no sugar) with small meals that contain lots of fiber, taken often, the cancer specialists who made this discovery are expecting to see that most cancers can now be controlled! If you're still not convinced read this! www.everydayhealth.com/columns/my-health-story/year-of-no-sugar-one-family-grand-adventure/I credit Charlie for bringing this to my attention

I posted this article on my facebook page for my friends to see. I didn't really feel it was an appropriate article for this board, it is a very interesting article but don't forget that this family had no food restrictions so were able to eat fruit and vegetables as much as they wanted. Therefore they weren't really sugar free as they were having fructose, glucose and sucrose in fruits and vegetables to satisfy their bodies and tastes needs, they were added sugar free. There is a big difference.
