Does this group discuss fructose malabsorption, or is the topic limited only to the much rare fructose intolerance condition?
I am wondering for malabsorption, is this condition associated with a higher fasting glucose level, or with onset of diabetes?
I understand that with fructose intolerance, glucose levels will often crash after ingesting fructose, but that condition is not my line of inquiry.

No, this site only discusses HFI but try mr proboard which is for fructose malabsorption http://www.fructosemalabsorb.proboards..com
However both conditions tend to get low blood sugar as in FM the sugars arent absorbed properly. If you are thinking type 2 diabetes along with proper medical care by following a low sugar diet you can help your symptoms.
Hope this helps
