Yes, the best ones I have found are from G&G vitamins, they don't have any fructose/sucrose element and are in capsules so you just swallow. You can get them on the internet, lots of different types so check the level you need. Meg has had these for 2 years now, their childrens multivitamin one. www.gangvitamins.com or come down and meet up with us as their shop is 30 minutes away from us...... How are you getting on with your diagnosis, last I heard you were waiting for DNA results.

Thanks Charlie, I'll have a look! These and others I've seen have citrus bioflavinoids in.... Any idea what they are? No idea!!!
It would be great to meet up!!
I'm still waiting for the test results. They tested for the most common mutation first and it wasn,t that, so they've gone on to map the whole gene. Takes months, but hopefully not too much longer. I read something the other day that said there are over 36 known mutations! I slowly learning about it all but still don

Hi sorry, missed your last post. How is Meg doing, well finally very well but it has taken alot of tweaking and experimenting and is a word of encouragement to other parents still muddling along there, there is an answer but it may just take a long time to find. She does seem to have sucrose and starch digestion problems, possibly also fructose malabsorption. Great Ormond Street blood tests drew a blank as basically the blood was doing everything it should when she has sugar so they sent us straight back to the gastro doc which was very frustrating as he is the one that takes so long to get on with things. So in the meantime I took a deep breath and tried some enzyme replacers called Polyzyme Forte made by Biocare that my stepmum had come across which contain sucrase but also amylase and isomaltase and several others. She takes them with each meal and within a couple of days I could see an improvement, alot of the gas stopped, her moods and energy improved and she had 5 dry nights in the 3 weeks we tried them which has never happened before. So when we saw the gastro chap I told him about them and also the fact that if she didn't have them with a meal she was very gassy within an hour...... so he is now looking into CSID....... and so we wait...... again....... but I have gone with my instincts and give her the enzymes when I can and have put her on a sucrose free diet and as low starch as is feasible. As I pointed out to him, by putting her on a fructose free diet before we were half there as that eliminated alot of sucrose too but she had a high starch diet. Trouble is I can't give them to her at school for lunch as they are not on prescription so will have to wait till the Christmas holidays to see if 2 weeks of giving them with every meal makes a difference. But she is so much more improved, she is going to school much better in the mornings, much less clingy, much more energy. Yes, OK she is now 11 but I don't think it is just because she is growing up, its because her tummy doesn't hurt her as much and she is breaking her foods down better and absorbing the sugars better. So we plod on, but I really feel we are on the home stretch with her now. Oh, re the vitamins, I had a very patronising answer back from the manufacturers of the vitamins about the citrus bioflavinoids that GandG passed on to me: Hi Charlie, I have asked our supplier about the citrus bioflavonoids and pure Vitamin C powder and their answer was as follows: Most fruits contain fructose including citrus fruits Therefore the customers who claim not to be able to metabolise fructose should not use any products of fruit origin. Pure synthetic vitamin C should not contain any fructose. I have just remembered that when I looked a couple of years ago Holland & Barrett sold pure Ascorbic Acid which is vitamin C. The dietitian did prescribe some after alot of research but when I collected it it quite clearly said contained sucrose on the label!!!
