Found a few new ones to play with. Meg fell in love with my mums frothy milk maker so she kindly bought us one. It is made by AEG and is called DolceCrema and basically you put some milk in it and it makes lovely hot frothy milk. You can also make safe chocolate milk using cocoa powder and glucose and make frothy hot chocolate. Its great as Meg uses it several times a day and means she gets her milk quota to keep her blood sugar up as she was bored with just milk. It just adds some fun to it.
The other one my neighbour found and it makes slush puppies. Its made by Chill Factor and is a rubbery cup you put in the freezer for 4 to 6 hours. Once the lining is frozen you pour some chilled fluid in and squeeze it for a few minutes for instant slushy drink. So far we have used chocolate milk and a chilled peppermint tea. Again a bit of fun for the kids, but you know what is in it.....

How much cocoa powder do you use for each cup of milk? My daughter would be thrilled to have some chocolate milk sometimes. She unfortunately sneaks mine when I try to hid a bit in the fridge.

I use about half a teaspoon of pure cocoa powder. It is quite bitter so you don't want to use too much. I use Green & Blacks powder we get in the uk. I also found a block of cocoa which you can grate but that is very fiddly and messy. I also use it to make chocolate custard with milk and corn flour and a little bit of glucose.
Caution those on FM diet that need to avoid fructans limit cocoa as it contains inulins.

Thanks Charlie, I will try it for her. She misses hot chocolate on a cold day.
