Hello friends,
While boring alone with my phone i ran into an IOS application for Ipad.
Application name is "Food Intolerances". They offer a huge food database.
What i was surprised about is their sensitivity functionality. Here you can choose in between different sweeteners(sorbitol, saccharose, fructose...) and set a sensitivity level which actually is a filtering tool. They also support the combination of sensitivity tool and categories(Fruit, vegetables, meat...).
I compared the data with a danish fooddatabase and was convinced.
Another thing is beside general data they also offer a supporting text about each item, which describes how the values can vary.
I would like to hear some experience with that application, since HFI is a new subject in our family. Please share.
Best Regards
Egemen Turan Father to Roza and Meryem - HFI

Firstly Welcome to the site! Sorry but I do not have an iPhone.. I have a Galaxy Note2 OK OK bragging I know .. Is there an Android version of this app? I am sure someone will be onto this quickly and report back it sounds very useful for parents / carers of HFI people. If you need any help or advice about diet please ask We argue a lot here (particularly about Glucose / sweeteners debate) but do not let this put you off We are all trying to help you keep your children safe and happy.

Hi. Thanks for the info. I've downloaded the app, which seems pretty fair, although several foodstuffs have come up as 'green' for me, including fresh figs, parsnip, melon, turnip, squash, cider, tomatoes/juice, strawberries, raspberries, coconut milk, sherry, white & red wine, peas, bean sprouts & most scary of all, honey! It's a great idea though! (I do have an iPhone & I love it!)
