Places to eat in the Czech Republic

Just about anyware I think, so far not found a place where they have not had food which I can eat and be safe.

The standard evening meal (as in Germany and Poland) is boiled frankferters with nice bread rolls and butter, every cafe has them on the menu. They are served with mustard and tomaote ketchup but this is on the side of the plate so you can avoid it.

The main meal of the day is at mid day when they eat huge amounts usually starting with a soup, most of which are actually safe even though they might contain a few peas and carrot strips etc.

Also the whole Country (city centers) are getting infected with KFC's and Mac D's so there is one place to avoid at all costs anyway, and one place which is HFI safe and you can work out in a hurry what is safe to eat... should you find yorself getting a bit LOW so to speak.

KFC variety meal and the standard 2 or 3 peice meal is safe in every country I have tried it in, as are the hot wings

Just below Prague Caste is a medieval restaurant in a cellar.. Lit by candles and an open fire..

The food is always absolutely wonderful (I have eaten here 3 times in the last 12 years)

In English the name translates to "Tavern of Severn Swabians"
and has a Suit of Armour outside the front door.

Its just off the main street that comes down from the castle (if you are walking towards the town center and Charles Bridge)

I also had lunch in a place frequented by many Workers in Prague for their lunch time meal.

Traditional Czech food and really gorgeous stuff too and mostly HFI safe!

Also the menu is in English as well as several other languages.

It is a 5 min walk from Charles bridge, near the famous clock and next to a street market so you cannot get more central than that!

So in short being HFI is no restriction to travel and eating safe in Czech Republic (or the rest of Europe either really) is not only easy but really tasty, they really know how to cook here!

I will add a codicil here France can be a bit of a problem because they get very "fancy" with their cooking which these days seems to mean adding sweet ingredients in things that not only do not need them but do not benefit form them being added either.

While in France go for the simple foods and Steaks (of course) which will be generally safe.

I recommend traveling with a companion who will not mind swapping their meal with you if you find yours is too sweet.

Although so far this week not had to do that once! I have not found anything that tasted a tiny bit sweet.

I have not taken the safe route of having a steak and fries once!

Only one more day to go

I cannot wait till I can come back again
