Gillianne has to have baking soda in her drink 2-3 times a day. She is currently off dairy, the last test was enough, made her very constipated and horrible eczema. She cannot have soy milk and water, well it just doesn't mask the taste enough. I tried koolaid but we had a few problems #1 being the staining ability and my carpets. She won't drink pumped breastmilk and I can't find away to get the baking soda into the breasmilk without pumping, lol. Diet Decaff Lipton Ice Tea had been working very well and she absolutely loved it but the nephrologist put the kabosh on that today, saying it was too diuretic, yet she offerred no alternatives.
It doesn't work well in food because she has to have it slowly throughout the day, making it more difficult.
Any other easy tricks? Crystal Light maybe? Has anyone tried that?

Apparently they are telling me that tea, caffienated or not is a diuretic. I don't buy it after doing some research and even if it does have a little bit at least I can get her meds in.
They want her drinking at least 30 oz a day. One of the problems is that with the kidney disorder, the arthritis meds can be very toxic if she is even slightly dehdrated, which she does easily. Add the fluid requirements with trying to add her meds in them and it's an uphill battle. It was a battle I was winning until they told me I couldn't use tea, or course, her first suggestion was juice. It took a few reminders before it "clicked" and then she left it saying "let us know what you decide".

What about fun dip in water. It would stain the same but I would think it would taste good.
Zander only drinks water and milk at this point and is happy with that. It would be hard if I had to hide someting in
