OK so we with HFI have a problem.. when we exercise we tend to go Hypo (low blood sugar)
This is because of a couple of reasons not the least being when we start converting body fat back into blood sugar we produce Fructose as well as glucose.
So the best thing is to avoid this happening.
From another condition which I think its called GSD or Glycogen Storage Dease its a problem with energy conversion and the liver, they cannot convert Glycogen back to Glucose. so have to be very careful what they eat.. too much and they make Glycogen which is stored in their livers and once in cannot come out (they get massively enlarged Livers).
Too little and they go so Hypo they can drop into a coma!
To regulate this they take Cornflour milk shakes!
OK so it don't sound too good, uncooked cornflour in plain milk but it really works, I have been trying it.
Firstly it is not so bad as you might think I mix about 100g cornflour into 200g of semi skimmed milk (half fat milk) and also add some plain unflavored Bio Yoghurt into it as well which sharpens the flavour a little and makes it whisk up into a proper thick milk shake consistency.
Yes its a little powdery to drink but I wash it down with a half glass of straight milk and that takes all the powdery residue out of my mouth..
I do not recommend adding none digestible fiber into it though.. that did not work too well.. I was feeling full for two days! or maybe the Hot cup of tea I drank shortly after cooked it a little I don't know, but if I was wanting to diet fast it was a good way to feel full for days on end not to mention bunged up!!
So if you are HFI and going out for a long walk, run or doing some other hard work I can recommend a cornflour milkshake first and you will feel much stronger and far better for at least the next 8 hours!
Enjoy
