Its because the fructose is "hidden" by the dextrose and starches which breakdown into Pure Glucose.
These support the blood sugar level and stop it dropping to create the standard HFI reaction ie hypoglycemia.
This means of course the child (or adult ) is still being poisoned by Fructose and a lot of bad health issues will occur as a result.
The least effect will be a reduced accademic achevment becasue the child will be suffering "brain fog" as a result of the low level constant fructose posioning.
There is a lot medical professionals do not understand or realize this about HFI.
And almost ALL parents on this site!
Tolerated foods are NOT HFI SAFE!
Each child and adult with HFI seems to be able to "tolerate" different levels of Fructose in their diet, however the only HFI I know of who has been tested accurately is Fred
Fred's test results show his maximum safe level is only 100mg of Fructose a day!
Fred is not by any means a "reactive" HFI if I can use that term, he is not as sensitive to Fructose as some of us seem to be.
100mg is less than 1/10Th of a gram or to put it another way 1/50Th of a teaspoonful!
Or 1/25Th of a spoon full of sugar!
In a grown MAN!
So how much can your child tolerate before damage is occurring??
A lot less!
That is for sure.
In fact the amount is too small to be measured.
So this is why I get so angry and depressed when parents (well meaning to be sure) but OH so badly misguided try to make sweet foods for an HFI child.
Christmas is coming give your HFI child a gift this Christmas..
Don't poison them this year!
Please.

I've used Betty Crocker pizza mix a few times and I always check the ingredients. I have never spotted sugar listed in the ingredients, but I have heard someone mention this issue before with Betty Crocker Pizza Mix. Like most products, the ingredients may vary from region to region. Another option to Betty Crocker is Peter Pan, Martha White, or Jiffy Mix. I, personally, prefer Martha White. Again, always check the ingredients and never take what anyone says on this forum as concrete fact. It's damned near impossible to find a consistent food manufacturer from region to region. Bill is very passionate this time of year. I'm not even 100% certain he meant to respond to this post. I agree with him, but I don't think he meant this reply for a query about pizza crust mix.

I think he is still reeling from the christmas treats post, I didn't have time to warn elily to duck!!!!!!!!
There is a very easy way to make a quick pizza base and that is to make a scone base, it takes 2 minutes to mix together and cooks really quickly. And you can roll it out thin or thick according to taste and add herbs if you want.

In different countries brand name products have different ingredients..
Which is why local knowledge is so vitally important to us.
In the UK for example Shredded Wheat is 100% wheat nothing else while in Australia it has added sugar. while Wheatabix has 8% added sugar in the UK but is sugar free in Australia! and both are made by the same company.. work that one out..
I mean why?
Same with brand name companies like KFC and (spiting in sink) Mac Donalds the formulas / recipes change between countries and as far as I know within countries maybe? who knows??
In the UK and Australia KFC Variety meal and the original meal has always been safe but by what I read on here this is not so in the USA? am I right??
