Wasn't really sure what to call this, but am interested to know if anyone else has had the same experience... Apparently Nate got into someone's juice at daycare on Friday. A separate issue - he's getting potty trained, sort of, and tends to save up going pee and then fills his diaper in one shot. So full pee diaper and he has a liquid BM on top of it from the juice - total acidy yuck (just as I come to pick him up). I've seen it burn around the exit, but this one escaped the confines of the diaper and ran down his thigh. It actually burned his leg so that the skin was blistering and cracking open!!! I was so shocked I didn't know what to do, but put diaper rash cream on it and console him. I've been trying to keep neosporin and a bandage on it the past few days and it is getting better. Has anyone run into anything close to this before? I'm wondering if I should ask his daycare provider to give him baking soda or something if they catch him getting into stuff he shouldn't. Guess I'll call the ped about it tomorrow to get her suggestion, but am interested in hearing any you might have. There must be some way to offset the acid reaction he has to fructose.

This isn't something I've ever had to deal with. She has quite a terrible oder to her bm. We joke about it, but other than the fact that no one can breathe in the entire house, it doesn't create any other problems.
We do say........Guess anything that is as spoiled rotten as she is - is bound to stink. ;D

Thanks for the laugh Tammy. I'll have to borrow that saying as it's pretty well true over here too. BM diaper's go in a tied bag and in the outside trash immediately and the smell still lingers for a time. AMAZING that someone so small can stink so big!
Got a call from ped and GI doc and unfortunately there is nothing to offset the acid output. I guess I was thinking that since when you have an acid stomach you take an antacid for relief there must be an offset for this and there isn't. I was originally thinking baking soda might do it, but ped indicates that this will affect his blood pH and not his BM pH. BUMMER!
Anyway, thanks for listening.
