Edit
DOH! must still be brain fogged.. cant possibly be a Senior moment.. already posted about Weatherspoons.. oops
end of edit..
Popped into a Weatherspoons for lunch yesterday and had a cheese and ham Panini with chips, to you they are French or Belgian fires, depending on if you believe the French or the Belgians as to who thought it up first and a latte coffee.
I had told them to hold the mayo and the meal tasted fine. I could not detect any sweetness at all although the fries did seem to have a different "balance" if that makes any sense..
Anyway just to say there must have been some Fructose in there because that afternoon I was quite brain fogged and tired.. although that might be the anti histamine I have been taking for hay fever which seems worse this year than I can remember it.
Their steak and chips is always good and I have not had a reaction of any sort from that, as is their Gammon egg and chips. however I went for the Panini because it was on special offer and really cheap!
I know its not really "dining out" but more food on the go type place.
There are more than 500 Weatherspoon pubs in the UK all serve beer quite cheap even Real Ale! and their food while cheap is good and not messed about with too much.. however do not expect too much in the way of quality, they are a chain of pubs and the food is all prepacked ready for cooking.
But at least it provides consistency across the 500+ pubs.
I can generally recommend them so long as you don't go silly and stick to known safe HFI foods
Keep smiling
