The rest of the world may not be aware of this ........ but GB is hosting the olympics which starts tomorrow..... ;D We are certainly aware of it, I must admit to being excited after seeing the olympic torch in our area a few weeks ago and have managed to get incredibly cheap paralympic equestrian tickets so Megs can at least get a feel of what it is all about. However, here is the thing. 2 of the major sponsors are Coca Cola and McDonalds. so they will be the only sellers around the olympic stadiums. For security reasons you can't take drinks in unless the lids are off and advice is that you can take a bit of food but not big picnics and hampers and things to encourage you to buy food there....... So Britain will be so healthy by the end of it.................... I'd like them to see them try and take Megs food bag off me.................... Mind you, Fred would be Ok for his breakfast every day................

Yes big business will not let people get healty while proffits are to be made.. I have to admit I too was supprsed by Freds breakfast.. Your letting the side down Fred Personally I cannot take the smell in the MacD's place they always smell so sweet and sticky I feel sick (UK stores anyway) My worst nightmare was taking my children (when they were younger) round Cadbury World in Birmingham UK.. 2 hours of sweet chocolate stink! UKK! Perhaps if I ever become a grandfather I will have to do it again.. but I really hope not, Cadbury World that is! IF I miss my breakfast I scoff a bacon and egg butty from a greasy spoon on the way to work. A greasy spoon is a road side cafe in the UK they can make a bacon and egg sandwich which is almost imposible to decribe.. they are so bad as to be completly perfect! It's a soul food kind of thing.. If you really want to die young they will do you a sandwich which contains a large breakfast in half a french stick loaf.. about 2000 calories mostly made up of grease.. they are great for hangovers.. or so I'm told..

The recipes are supposed to be the same worldwide but I know all the buns here have sugar added at least and I suspect other things too.

Unfortunately, the recipes are not world-wide. They are only country wide. They told me this the first time I took Regina out of the country. Each country has their own recipes, so you have to check the ingredients of where you are traveling to.
One thing is the same though. Our buns also have sugar in them.

Found the website for the UK McDonalds has really useful tool in the nutrients sections and if you press on ingredients and nutritional section it tells you exactly what is in everything. www.mcdonalds.co.uk/content/ukhome/meal_builder.htmlBy the looks of it, if you trust the "quality" of the pork put in the sausages you could have the sausage, bacon, egg and hashbowns at a push but not the bap. But the salt content added into the "Dextrose" added could still make my eyebrows raise that this is a regular on Fred's list........... he did try to bait me on my comment............. then retracted...................... unfortunately my wit was working too slowly that week due to sleep deprivation and olympic fever............ I have heard from people attending that there is more food choice there, if you don't mind queing for hours and taking out a 2nd mortgage............ bacon roll is £7.00!!!! Apparently the leader of the labour party got his picnic confiscated on entry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice one.......

Great news.. any country that has no sense of humor particularly about its politicians is being run by a bunch of crooks! IE Russia! Mmm thinking about it.. may be not! but at least I do not get locked up in prison for saying so! I wonder if I could have got a medical dispensation for my packed lunch?

Hey, we survived the paralympics. What a fab day. Yes, food was bloody expensive there and long queues, (or miss a bit of action and get it when everyone else was sat down). Security checks - phew got through those - just. I had done bottles of frozen water to keep cool and one with Megs lacto-free milk (which suits her better). You couldn't take in bottles with more than 100 ml of fluid in them and no lids on them please. So I told them it was special to her diet and medicated! Thats fine. Picnic was fine.... but something else in my bag was worrying them, very embarrassing when you are descended on by 5 very good looking army lads needing to search you!!!!! Eventually worked out it was Megan's epipen that was causing the problem.......... Phew, through we went. You should have seen the amount of forks and knives that had been taken off people................ But picnic ran out and we need more fuel than a few dry sandwiches so we had a look at the food stands. luckily their chips (Fries) were only potato and oil so we had a portion of those which was big enough to share round with the whole group of us and managed to convince the stand next to the fish and chip stand to sell us one sausage (and not the rolls etc that they were selling at vast expense) but just a pound for one sausage.......... So all was well that ended well. Very happy, very sunburnt, very relieved but very tired.......... Then managed meal at Zizzi's in evening but that is for another post. Sorry fred, not a McDonalds to be seen.................

Ok I assume you were wearing a Burker and a back pack to specifically get the army lads to search you? Obviously you missed an oppertunity to ask one of them to rub sun cream on you? Sorry silly mood this morning.. Glad you had a wonderful day.
