I am nursing my 10 month old but, will be leaving him for 4 days. He takes a bottle just fine and I have what I think he needs pumped but, I would like to have some formula on hand just incase he increases his intake. I also started my other kids on formula in a cup at about this age as a transition. Anyone have a recomandation? I have not gone to the store looking at lables yet. I know my 6 year old did not do well on several formulas and I now think it was due to sugars in them. He seemed ok on Carnation Good Start.

The last time I looked, Similac was still ok baby formula. I'm not sure all the different types were or not. But that is one to check.

I picked up some good start and gave him some with snack last night. He liked it and all looks good. He has been fighting a cold and had a fever this morning. I gave him normal baby motron and this afternoon we started with the loose diapers. His other symptoms seem to be gone and he seems much better but, for the future what do you use? For my older son I used an adult version and cut it up. But, he is 6. I need something dosed for a 22lb 10 month old. I can call the doc but, figured I would see what people use here. I have a fructose free tussen that is used for congestion but, does not help with pain or fever.
Thanks Nancy

the only thing I can think of is to figure out what the appropriate dose of tylenol is (use the baby tylenol as a guide)...cut an adult tablet...crush it...disolve it...put in into a syringe...and down the hatch.
Good luck! KJ

Before she could swallow pills, we always just put it on a bite or two of pudding. Just slid right down.

Thanks for all the great ideas! I have cut some up and put them in a pill box and figured out what to give him. I do have glucose syrup, pudding, ect.... I will be ready for the next round. It was amazing how he was so regular for about 2 weeks while on the HFI diet then one dose of meds and yesterday he had 5 loose diapers.
Thanks

For Tylenol you can use a suppository like feverall. Also we found a safe motrin (at least safe for us) Orange Motrin chewables. Not that a baby can chew them but at least they taste better melted. I went to the website to link the ingredients and just found out that they are discontinuing the product.
I hope you find a solution and start feeling better soon.
