SAFE FOODS:
- Extra Virgin live Oil
- White Rice
- Savoy Cabbage with the veins and stalks removed
- Yokon Potatoes
- Collard Greens with veins and stalks removed
- Roasted seaweed snacks (traders Joes natural grocer)
- Seaweed
- Snyders fo Hanover brand gluten free pretzel sticks
- Pure Basmati rice - DONT buy "doesn't stick" kind because they add sugar to prevent sticking
- Rice Bran Oil
- Corn starch
- Plain Hummus in moderation
- Lemonnaise - alternative to mayonaise found at a grocer called "Whole Foods" in the states.
- Yellow mustard
- Chicken broth requires you to boil a whole chicken, stroe bought broth is unsafe
- Barilla brand angel hair pasta
- Kirkoman brand soy sauce - NO other soy products allowed
- Small amounts of cornmeal
- Chewing gum - www.tundratrading.com to buy xylichew gum for when he is older and wants gum=)
- Rice Flour
- Shredded wheat cereal Plain
- Puffed rice cereal
- Puffed wheat ceral *** We tried this with Bram but he began to vomit small amounts, like spitting up. Once we stopped giving him this cereal the vommiting stopped. Good examlpe of a reaction to a food.
- Cream of Wheat cereal
- Plain Grits
- Jiffy brand baking mix -You can make waffles, pancakes and biscuits with this mix.
- Unsweetened oatmeal
- Plain yogurt
- Green Olives
- Pickles
- Basil
- Homemade mac and cheese
- Betty Crocker brand pizza crust
UNSAFE FOODS:
- Canola Oil
- Soy Oil
- Brown Rice
- Onions of ANY kind
- Green peas
- White cabbage
- Pumpkin
- Garlic - powder, salt or fresh
- Cinnamon
- Cocoa
- New or Baby potatoes
- Yellow felshed or waxy potatoes
- Onion powder or onion salt
- Soya Oil
- Coconut - meat or oil
- Frozen French Fries (companies dip the fries in a solution with sugar to make them brown quicker! yuck!)
- Balsamic Vinegar
- Brown Rice Flour
- Brown Rice Syrup
- Asparagus
- Paprika
- Rice Wine Vinegar
- Soybean Oil
- High fructose corn syrup due to contamination( In the states the FDA does not require food corps. to include added sugar to HFCS up to a certain amount, any amount of added sugar would harm our kids so it's a no.)
- Corn syrup solids
- Corn
-Peanuts
-Peanut butter, even sugar free kind
- Bouillon
- Anything listed as "Whole Grain"
- Green Peppers
- Corn oil
- Corn Flour
- Canned tuna - even if it's in water because the companies add veggie broth to the water.
- Most bagels
- All Beans
- Soy beans and Tofu may be okay but have to try and watch for reactions
Other Info:
- ALL beans have fructose
- HFI'ers get very bad breath when they eat fructose
- Anything that states "Artificial Flavors" or "Natural Flavors added" means Fructose has been added - NOT safe
- Check the ingredients on "Safe" foods regualrly becuase the companies can change the ingredients
- Check ingredients for sugar OR syrup
- HFI'ers may binge eat after high impact excercise because the body goes into hypoglycemic shock - not in babies and toddlers.
- Excercise causes HFI'ers to be very sleepy.
