I've noticed a recent trend where people send me private messages to ask me questions. I'm not sure why they're singling me out or if there are other members who are also getting questioned.
Mostly it seems to be lurkers, so I would like to send a friendly note out to any lurkers. If you want the best possible answer, definitely post a message on the forum. My opinion is very bias to my personal experiences.

I also get private messages and also wish to invite all the lurkers to post. I do see a pattern with my questions, though. They usually involve sweets, candy and cakes. I guess they don't want Bill's opinion and don't want to start him up again. So Laura, maybe your questions are from people who can sympathize with you the best and value your opinions. I know I trust the people the most who closely resembles Regina. And that would be you and Fred.

ooops, just spilt my tea everywhere laughing at that comment Tammy.
Yes, I think that you probably get selected as the most experienced on the board. But maybe as Tammy has said it is people who can identify more with you but don't feel they want to post publicly incase they get something wrong.

Thanks for the link, Charlie, and Colormist, she had the HFI gene test but the result was something along the lines of "we cannot confirm HFI in this patient" - done by Baylor, I believe. So if she has HFI it is not a known mutation.

Poor Bill! He's reminding me more and more of the salamander by the same name in Alice Adventures in Wonderland.
Now if I could only prod him into emailing me his story.

Sorry colormist, will try to get it re-done soon.. Started new (second) job so now working some 65+ hours a week! Not got much time at the moment. Yes Tammy I know people don't like to think they are doing things wrong particularly when it comes to feeding their children.. Unfortunately most of the population seem to think eating sweet foods is a good idea if not essential.. it is't not and for an HFI child its really not a good idea at all. I can't help everyone but if I can save one or two children from being fed foods which are potentially dangerous to them then I consider it a job well done. Thankfully even adult HFI'ers, people who have been eating Glucose for years are now feeling very much better in themselves when they cut it out of their diets.. Or so the messages I am getting say, certainly no one has said that they feel worse for taking it out of their diets. So it's not only parents of HFI children who are getting the message.
