Hi
I am looking for a gentle safe laxative for my almost 4yr old ds...it seems after trying a few natural approaches we don't have any choice but to get him on a laxative His diet is very limited and besides low fructose he is on a dairy, soy, gluten and corn free diet
Has anyone had luck with Konsyl
Thanks for any feedback/suggestion (already tried flax oil/seeds etc)

When Nate first started the diet, his GI doc recommended Miralax. He wrote a prescription, but I have seen it on the shelf recently at the supermarket so you may not need one.
We never tried it, 'cause thankfully by that time Fred had told me that shredded wheat might help (and it did!), but Miralax is SF.

Just read your post on the other board and it sounds like you're looking for a Miralax substitute. Have you tried glycerin suppositories? I'm not sure if they are SF or not, but it might be worth a look.

Hi Just a few things we use and work well for us,
Liquid parrafin oil [no additives] if you go to a chemist its called para choc in this country and full of nasties but the straight form from the supermarket very cheap, about 5 - 10ml poured onto the morning breakfast. more or less tasteless. The pead say it is safe long term and doesn't have the complications of some other laxatives.
As well adding into the general diet Guar Gum a natural fibre reseach says in google the two sugars are safe. cross ref for your self with the tolan sugar chart.
One table spoon to the "Freds" bread recipe.
As a daily drink 1/4 tspoon in 100ml water stir then add 150ml zero coke or other preferred drink, to make one cup, our child doesn't know its there.
When cooking white sauce etc, instead of putting corn flour or the like for thickening one teaspoon of guar gum will thicken it just as well.
You can hide it almost any where.
Hope everyone is well Regards Kerryn
