I finally got around to telling my brother about our doppleganger family that lives on the west coast. He was okay with: -a female my age - that has hfi - that was recently confirmed with hfi - that has a younger brother and his eyes started to get big when I said: - that also has hfi - but is unconfirmed - that is in the army - and is about his age I had people over this weekend. One on the low-carb diet, the other that doesn't have a diet, and the other that's HFI (being my brother). I had a bit of a difficulty trying to figure out what to buy grocery-wise. At least my brother was happy with all the food in my house. Though I did know how the other two felt, but at least they wouldn't get sick if they ate shredded wheat and cheetos.

Too funny!!! It is awfully bizarre how many similarities we have. (Oh, but for the record, he's older, I'm the youngest.) When I first told my brother about HFI, he seemed totally un-interested. But as I've spent more time with him, it turns out he's turning into Mr. Label Reader. He even caught my mom with a big jar of DILL pickles in her fridge that had high fructose corn syrup in them. DILL pickles with hfcs - honestly, what is the world coming to? Sounds like you had your dietary hands full this weekend. I always love visiting my brother, though, since he has all the safe snack foods on hand.

My brother, this past weekend, said he wanted a list of all the foods he shouldn't eat. I told him it would be a shorter list if I gave him everything he COULD eat. So, he's showing interest in his liver as well. I've seen those pickles!! I ran across sauerkraut that had sugar in it, too. I was like WTF?? It's SOURkraut, not SWEETkraut.

Just had to chime in to say that my little brother with suspected HFI was also in the military. He is now a trucker and we just joked the other day that now that he is getting serious about the diet he needs a full fridge in his truck!
