Ya'all reintroduced me to Smarties - hadn't had them in years. Yes, they are good!!!! Recently, I have been eating one or two small rolls a day after discovering them in Panama the market. But, now my mouth is soooo sore. But, this is different. It's like I burnt the whole inside of my mouth and down my throat. There's only dextrose, citric acid and food coloring in them - so it must be the citric acid. Anyone else have this problem?

In the past I would have large amounts of sweet tarts to combat bouts of hypoglycemia before I was familiar with HFI , but they were uncontrollable amounts (I felt possessed when hypoglycemic) and I had the burning sensations you describe and even extreme heartburn eating too many.
Now I never get hypoglycemia and keep the sweet tarts in reserve as if they were medicine.
I would not eat them regularly because of the acid effects on your digestive track, but instead use them only when you feel symptoms of low blood sugar like brain fog.
