I found a nifty link on Pinterest for making homemade ice cream in a ziplock bag (heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, and shake in another bag with ice and rock salt). I made a batch with my kids, and they were fascinated. They loved it. I had enough for a second batch, so I used the heavy cream and dumped a bunch of pixy stix in there.
Voila, HFI safe ice cream. But, I couldn't eat it!!!! It was 35 years ingrained in my head that ice cream = bad. I didn't like it at all and could only eat a couple of bites.
Too funny. My husband finished it up and said it wasn't sweet enough, but he liked it okay.
I thought you all would appreciate my little experiment.

The ice cream was HFI safe (I didn't put sugar or vanilla in my batch). I was just pointing out that I didn't like the texture or concept.
