I have been worried for some time that we do not have many children or people under the age of 25 on the site. We had a good post a few weeks back form a a young person with HFI from Switzerland. However been as he (I think it was a "he") did not join the forum we cannot contact him directly. I wonder if anyone knows of a child or Young person who would run a Junior HFI site where children and not their parents can chat and discuss having HFI between themselves? A place where they feel safe and can discuss issues that concern themselves without parental neck breathing so to speak? I remember how excited I was when I talked to Fred for the first time.. It was my first communication with someone else with HFI. It was great not to feel totally alone and nice to be able to talk to someone who understood and had been there done that sort of thing. How much happier my teenage years would have been had I been able to chat with other HFI people of the same age! Ideas anyone?

Sincere concern... yet do not want to be intruding into the kids world.
Certainly there would be some adult......monitoring? Overseeing?
I don't know the term to use. Susan

I would think somewhere someone would have to keep an eye out for grooming and people with sick scene of humour posting dangerous (for HFI) advice yes.. a moderator of some sort.

I have had thoughts along a similar line for some time, a while ago I suggested to Sandra (Meaniejean) that we should get our kids to email as they sounded very similar but Megs is not literate enough yet to do it and would cause her more stress trying it. But then she isn't teenage, and yes it would be great for teenagers if we found any, maybe will look into it, we could just set up a junior proboard, its really easy to moderate or a similar thing but would maybe need some training how to spot potential problems, our local community police officer knows alot about that so I could ask her for advice. we had a talk at school for parents on how to keep kids safe on the internet, the lady taking it was CRAP but the CPO came along too and was very well informed. Definately something to look into, and may also help us a parents to understand how they feel, could be almost like a confidential help line too.
As I say, they would have to be the right age, on the other board there are two 10 year olds and Megs with very similar symptoms in general and seem to all have had the same process of testing and negative answers so when they are old enough this would be great for them to get together. But....... first find the sufferers........
