really appreciate your input on this topic, thanks! (newly diagnosed and looking to see what things should be supplemented on the HFI diet)

You would benefit from a multivitamin and extra vitamin C but be very careful what make you buy as alot esp Vit C are sugar coated of some sort. You can get ascorbic powder for Vit C but it is very bitter.

I take a women's multivitamin from Target (Target-brand). I made sure it had my missing vitamins (I used Cronometer to see what vitamins were missing from my diet).
Vitamins make me feel like I've ingested fructose (near-instant gag reflex), so I make sure to eat lots of food before the vitamin.

I just started taking some Fiber supplements, but nothing else. I used to regularly take Vitamin C pills (the asorbic acid ones), but stopped about 5 years ago. I am sure I am defiecient in many nutrients, but dont even know where to start with that.

Thank you, Fred. I remember most of those from your interview. Do you know if you were ever given a glycerol challenge test? Apparently (according to another post on this forum) that test might be diagnositic for FBPase deficiency, which is a different enzyme in the fructose metabolic pathway.
However...my original question was actually addressed to vintagesf, who said they were newly diagnosed (but I failed to make that clear!)

Fred, that is very interesting that C was the only vitamin/mineral you were deficient in! I'm glad to hear that. That (and D) are the only supplements I have been taking.

To be honest, if you are on a full HFI diet you will probably (mineral and vitamin-wise) be healthier than alot of the population as the quality of your food will be alot better, when you look at the cheap, chemical loaded crap that alot eat these days, the amount of time the fruit and veg sits in polythene wrappers on the shelves etc its amazing it has any nutritional value at all. The only obvious one is vitamin C but I bet at least half the "healthy" population is deficient in that. With HFI you can't eat the highly processed crap but have to eat carefully sourced foods, prepared at home. Fred - I hope you never get a drugs raid - filling capsules with white powder .......
