Deb McQueen posted this in the "links" section well over a year ago, and at that time no one else posted any results for comparison. I thought maybe there would be more response by moving it over here to the "adult" section.
Have another HFI-ers on this board had this test done? I, too, would love to see if there is a difference in tolerance depending on one's enzyme numbers.
Here is Deb speaking:
Since there is so much variance in our ability to tolerate fructose, I thought it might be interesting to compare our results and see if there appears to be a correlation between level of deficiency and extent of tolerance. My guess would be there is.
If you suffered any complications or disability, please include the type and extent as well as how long you went without treatment.
My HFI went untreated for 51 years; complications incude: neurologic, muscular, connective tissue, nephrologic, liver and vision. Severe physical disability. I have 0 tolerance for fructose, all forms, fructans included.
My fructose assay was done on 12/17/09 and the unit of measurement used was micro/mol/min/gram tissue. The results followed by control referance range are as follows:
Fructose 1-6 Biphosphatase: 1.0 *** 3.78+/-0.74 F1-6-dip: 1.2 *** 9.09+/-3.80 F1-P Aldolase B: 0 *** 9.05+/-3.93
