In large stockpot place 8 boneless chicken breasts in pot. Cover with water and add salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil and cook until chicken is done. Remove chicken and cut into pieces. Add chicken back into water in pot.
Bring back to a boil. Prepare dumplings according to Bisquick mix. Drop into water.
Add 2-3 T of butter or margarine, and 1/2 cup of milk.
Simmer until dumplings are cooked.
Serve with a side of mashed potatoes.
