I did know that Dextrose was corn sugar, but only because I work with it.
The exciting thing is that HFI was mentioned. Word is slowing getting out there.....

news.yahoo.com/us-denies-name-change-disputed-sweetener-225057022.htmlThey denied the application for a name change from HFCS to corn sugar, specifically citing the danger to people with HFI. I wrote to them to comment on the name change, saying that as it currently stands it is fairly easy for people with HFI to manage their condition with diet, and that if they make sugar content more difficult to assess, then HFI may move from being a condition that is easily managed with diet to being a condition that requires expensive medical food and increased use of doctor and hospital resources. I'm glad that they considered the impact on people with HFI in their decision.

Oh hell, it already requires expensive food. LOL! My news feed exploded with this last night. I particularly love this article: www.france24.com/en/20120531-us-denies-name-change-disputed-sweetenerThe (Big Corn) campaign cites experts saying there is no difference between various sugars in terms of metabolism, calories or other nutritional values. I guess they weren't including the 30+% odd people with Fructose Intolerance in that glassed over statement. I'm glad the FDA agreed with the public on this one.
