I make homeade pancakes all the time. We have been using the "tried & true" recipe from The Joy of Cooking cookbook.

Kim55 When Pasta is cooked it is boiled in water.. this cooking method will leach out most of the remaining Sugars. My mother used to add the water from the boiled veg into the gravy on Sunday making too sweet for me to eat.. she thought she was doing right by giving me all the goodness in the water lost from the veg by cooking.. Eventually she got the message when I was about 23 I think Sugars are very water soluble so we can reduce the amount we get in our diet (HFI) by careful choice of item and cooking method. I love Pancakes and also Oatcakes.. A local speciality. A friend of mine has just opened an Oatcake shop so I will have to ask him for the recipe.
