OK, My Daughter did this for me last night and it was fantastic and easy to cook too. It took her 25 min from start to serving. This is HFI safe not sure about DFI its great for "Normals" too Ingredient list 2 x Salmon steaks 1 x Small bag of smoked salmon trimmings. 200g Prawns (frozen) Milk Parsley (herb) and mixed Fine herbs for Salmon steaks. Salt & Pepper Pack of medium egg noodles. Knob of unsalted butter Potato starch or corn flour to thicken, mixed with a little milk just before adding to sauce. Put Salmon Steaks into foil with salt and Pepper and sprinkling of mixed herbs. Pop into a preheated Oven at gas mark 5 (190 Degrees C or 375 Degrees F) Cook for 20 min or until just cooked though. While this is cooking put frozen prawns into a pan with the knob of unsalted butter warm to defrost the prawns when they are starting to soften add the milk, smoked Salmon trimmings and Parsley (dried or fresh chopped). When just simmering, lower heat and thicken with starch. (if using corn starch let it cook for 5 min to get rid of the powdery taste you will get otherwise, adjust seasoning to taste (Salt and Pepper) Just as you are about to thicken the Sauce, add medium egg noodles to pan of salted boiling water and cook for 4 min and drain. Serve. The only thing that could improve it would be to add some thick cream to the sauce and reduce the amount of starch used to thicken.. but then that would make the sauce much more "richer" in taste. The reason for Unsalted butter is it mixes into the sauce without leaving an "oily" residue like salted butter or veg oils will do. Unsalted butter is really only solid cream and can be reconstituted into cream if you have the patience to do it Enjoy!

Tonight I'm having hot Pork sandwiches.. Small of leg joint of pork, seasoned well (Salt and Pepper) and put into cast iron oven proof pot. Little oil, 1 crushed and chopped clove of Garlic, put meat into hot pot, cook meat on top of hob till meat browned all over (keep turning it over). Add a little boiling water, Mixed herbs, Lid on and in the pre heated oven (medium heat). When cooked through (about 5 min from now... mmm hungry) remove meat add thinly sliced mushrooms and cook on the top for 2 min. Then thicken with Potato starch (flour) or Corn Starch (Corn Flour) Cut 4 really thick slices of good fresh bread with poppy seeds on the top, slice meat put on thick "doorstop" of bread. Ladle thick gravy and mushrooms all over and top off with another "door stop" (minimum 1" thick slice of good bread!) Messy eating but so very very good! Should be ready about now.. BYE now.. Yum Yum..

I generally don't eat restaurant-prepared pizza, they add sugar to the crust. I make my own pizza. I just had some tonight. Yum!

Colormist you are taking in far more Fructose than I can handle.
Chinese I love but not much comes without sugar I have to be very careful where I buy from and explain to them no sugar.. most then direct me to meals that contain no pre-prepared sauces so they can make with no sugar in for me. OR make my own which is usually fine if I am not making for other people as well when I'll add in things they will like and try to "eat round" them.
Artichoke I love but don't feel good on them so they don't like me, same for all forms of beans..
Brown Rice I used to eat but now don't due to its high fibre content and still having the "germ" which contains fructose.
Baked Potatoes (any variety) and Avocado is a definite NO No for me I react to them straight away.
If I want to eat anything green I have a little green cabbage, lettuce, a tiny amount of spinach or water cress.
I can eat celery raw but it goes sweet when cooked (like onion) so now avoid it if I can.
Its interesting that you can handle so much Fructose.
I think my diet might have contained similar amounts when I was in my 20's thinking about it.. which could explain why I was so ill so often.

As for the Chinese, I got steamed chicken & vegetables (I only ate the water chestnuts, a wee bit of broccoli, and mushrooms) and white rice.
I only eat artichokes in moderation. Last night was probably the largest portion I've ever had (2 or 3 large hearts). I was feeling a wee bit iffy, but nothing awful. Feel fine today.
I've never had a problem with brown rice, but again, I don't eat it too often as I have a preference for jasmine or basmati.
I usually have a pretty strong reaction to cabbage, lettuce, and celery. So I'm surprised you can have it. :\
I do my best to find foods that are both appetizing and moderately healthy for both my husband (he has celiac's) and myself. Sometimes he has to eat a little bit of wheat (soy sauce or tortilla) and sometimes I have to try a new veggie. Otherwise I think we'd both go insane from the extremely bland diet that results from not eating any wheat or fructose.

Luke is 6 years old- here's our menu this week:
Saturday: Salami & cheese (appetizer), Meatballs (spinach, milk, parmesan and panko crumbs), butter noodles (rest of the family adds spaghetti sauce) Sunday: Dominos pizza (crispy thin crust, no sauce, double mushrooms) Monday: steak, sauteed mushrooms, butter noodles Tuesday: steamed salmon, rice, hummus, avocado Wed: Baked chicken with mac & cheese (rest of family adds broccoli) Thurs: Grilled cheese, potato chips, homemade chicken noodle soup Fri: Tacos (using the plain baked chicken), mashed avocado (plain guacamole), sour cream, cheese. Served with white rice. (rest of family eats seasoned meat and adds salad)
Luke also LOVES sushi rolls, which I make at home- seaweed, white rice (totally plain), and avocado in the middle. He takes these to school at least twice a week. So easy, filling, and a good source of Vitamin A.
