I looked at nutritiondata and it seems to be relatively low in fructose. Anyone want to comment on their tolerance of mustard? I thought it would be nice to use it in potato salad with some celery, egg, and Duke's mayo!

I use plain yellow mustard or the spicy brown kind, as long as fructose and sugar (or any other bad things) are not listed in the ingredients. I haven't had a problem finding "safe" mustards.

Regina also does fine on all the mustard she wants. We use it in things, and also on things like hotdogs and ham sandwiches. She will even dip her french fries in it if there doesn't happen to be any sour cream available for them.

Ummmm, I hate to burst your bubble but mustard should/could be much harder to tolerate than mayonnaise. Choose wisely. The main liquid ingredients in mayo are generally okay - eggs and oil with a hint of acid like vinegar or lemon. The "bad" in mayo would be if the vinegar was not an HFI safe one and the pinch of sugar that is spread throughout The main liquid ingredients in prepared mustard are not okay - vinegar and often wine or beer. Mustard often also may contain sugar and sometimes brown sugar.

The biggest thing is just like with everything else...........Read the label.
There isn't ANY mayonaise that I can buy in this area that doesn't contain sugar. Dukes mayo is sold online, and I have friends that travel to the south who pick it up for me. Whereas I have never seen a yellow mustard in my area that contains anything that is bad.
So again, different areas have different things. So always read the labels. Not only in different countries, but also in different parts of the country.

On Mayo, I found some Lemonnaise at Whole Foods that I'm doing well with. Tastes a little odd, but it's the only mayo I can find without risking the dangers of the Trader Joe's parking lot. If you have a Whole Foods in your area, Tammy, you might want to look for it. Small jar, white/black/yellow label, it was on the top shelf at my Whole Foods. I do perfectly find with mustard. It's one of my favorite toppings. I think I'd be quite miserable without it. French's and Plochman's yellow mustard are my favorites.

Alas, but this one-horse hick town area I am in doesn't have either a Trader Joes, or a Whole foods. We've only just got a Target (which is still about 20 miles away) this year. Wal-Mart and a local grocery chain - Weis Markets - are our biggest stores. If we travel about 20-30 miles we can get other options, but the closest Whole foods is over 100 miles away. I'll check it out sometime when I'm around one.
Our newest big thrill is Vlasic Dill Relish. She's been eating it just about every day and is doing fine. So now she has mustard AND relish on her hotdogs.

GET OUT--Dill Relish??? I must find this and enjoy it immediately.
My Whole Foods & Trader Joes are both about 40 miles away--but then again, everything seems to be about 40 miles away from me. My village does have a one-screen movie theater with awesome popcorn (if I feel like watching the G-rated movie-of-the-week).

We found the Dill relish at Wal-Mart. Works great with a little mayo to make tuna salad or ham salad.
We must be a little closer to half-civilation. Everything is about 20 - 25 miles away for us. We even have to go to the next Burg over to get to that 1-screen movie theater. Of course our Super Wal-Mart does have 1 thing that not all have................ Amish horse and buggies tied to the light poles in the parking lot.

Mmmmm, dill relish. Our grocery store generally has this (in little tiny jars, so I buy a few at a time). I think it's Mount Olive brand. Tammy, we do the same thing - mayo and dill relish in tuna, chicken salad, or other related things.
I also eat banana peppers on my sandwiches. Mmmmmm.
