My favorite Pizza joint a block away from my office gave my food poisoning last week. And not the HFI-kind, but the full-blown mishandling-of-chicken-kind. Needless to say, a week later I am still having problems eating regular food without a gagging sensation. I was wiped out for three days. One of which was non-stop puking and sleeping marathon. When I wasn't puking, I was sleeping. When I wasn't sleeping, I was puking.
Now I'm back to no pizza. It's such a depressing world without pizza. Maybe I'll try to make a homemade mushroom pesto pizza this week. That might cheer me up.

Man that sucks! I hope you feel better soon. Do you have a good pesto sauce recipe? I ask because I just made a homemade sauce yesterday for a pesto lasagna and I am in love. I will post it to the recipe section tonight or tomorrow. Seriously yummy ...
What would life be without pizza - it is a Friday night ritual here in our home ...

I was actually contemplating making my own pizza. I always feel guilty when I do this because my husband can't eat wheat and LOVES pizza. And I can't stand his sorghum pizza crust--so I'm not about to make a pizza for him, too. My coworkers brought to my attention another local pizza joint that is higher quality with the same recipes. I just hope they don't use sugar in their dough.
I've been using this awesome pesto sauce I found at Sam's Club. I've tried a lot of grocery store varieties, and they all tend to be pretty icky. I think I made a pesto sauce a long time ago--which was awesome--but it required a lot of fresh herbs. I don't usually have lots of fresh herbs on hand.
I'd totally like to see your pesto lasagna recipe, though!
