is this an ok item? I seem to be eating less and less meat. I am looking for protein. Pork hasn't agreeed with me for monthes and it seems I do better eating chicken or fish. Has anyone tried free range meat?

Soy, in general, is a pretty iffy item. Sometimes it seems to be okay, other times it has made me really sick. I don't know the difference between the two types, so I tend to avoid it altogether.
I don't eat pork, unless it's a tenderloin or pork chop. Lots of pork products are prepared with sugar.
I usually eat chicken, turkey, or beef. (Fish makes me queasy for reasons unknown and unrelated to HFI.) I've tried free-range chicken--but only as part of a soup and I didn't notice too much difference.
How about HFI-safe nuts or beans?

every time I pick up tofu in the store it looks so gross I always put it back . beef seems to disagree with me I eat a lot of chicken. I am afraid to try beans but I should bite the bullet and try them.

Only eat them in small portions until you know how you'll react to them. I'm not sure what the entire list of safe-ish beans are, but I like Lima and black beans.

Our gastro doctor said avoid all soy products. Soy beans are a big no. As for the fish, my son can eat only fresh caught never frozen. The frozen products seems to have a preservative added during processing like the turkey and chicken that makes him very sick. This even goes for canned tuna in spring water. Canned tunna can have soy according to several labels I've read. I can buy fresh fish and freeze it myself but can't use any of the ones factory frozen. I wish I could pin point which preservatives because other convenience foods with preservatives which should be safe make him ill. I know if i put in the time I might could figure it out. My feeling is it's like sugar and may be a whole category. I am just not a bio chemist. I just avoid them.

According to the British Diet advice beans permitted are >0.5g fructose/100g are haricot, mung and red kidney, dried split peas and lentils. In group 2 0.5 to 1g fructose are black eye, broad, butter and soya, marrowfat peas processed peas in water and chick peas. Not sure how this fits in with other advise, not tried anything on megan yet other than lentils.

I go through spurts where I'll eat a lot of edamame. I haven't noticed any problems with it.
I don't care for tofu - must be a texture thing.
