I gave one of those "turn my head while walking past a product, then back up to look at it again" maneuvers at the grocery store yesterday. I had already picked up two boxes of off-brand shredded wheat, but I was amazed to see "Unfrosted Mini-Wheats" in a prominent display in my local grocery. www2.kelloggs.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?brand=188&product=9990&cat=They're good. They have a different texture than the usual compact shredded wheat. These guys are super-fat, but still in little squares. I think they taste different. They definitely have about 7 more ingredients than regular shredded wheat has. If you do pick up the box, you can get a chuckle from reading the box. They promote it as a non-presweetened product. I have a marketing/advertising degree, so maybe I was slightly more amused than the typical person. I've been wondering forever why they didn't do this in the first place. It's not like Shredded Wheat has a lot of competition.

I finally bought these and tried them and REALLY liked them. They seem fluffier than the Post brand, and they do taste a tad different.
I was also amused by the packaging and how they're promoting it.
I've found some good coupons lately to promote it, so I was able to pick up a box at a super good price.

Laura or anyone else, are you still able to find these? I bought the one box I commented on, but I haven't been able to find them again since.

I stocked up on them at Meijer last weekend. Right now they seem pretty hard to come by, and when you do it's still cheaper to get Shredded Wheat.

Have you ever had Spoon sized Shredded Wheat? Isn't that pretty well the same as unfrosted mini wheats. Hi Fred. Yep, I buy the Post brand like crazy. It is getting a little harder to find, but it's my old standby. I was excited about the Kelloggs brand since it did taste a little different and has a different texture. I eat shredded wheat darn near every day, so it was nice to shake things up a little bit. Anyway, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that a sugarless cereal didn't sell well.
