Hi Laura,
Is there a brand of kalamata olives that you tolerate? Or just the kind you get from the deli. I'm going to have Lily give them a try.
I do have to thank you for the No Bake cookie recipe. Those are my kids favorite cookies over the holiday. Even my little guy who can have the real thing ... loves those cookies.
Does anyone have a good sugar cookie recipe. I found a great cream cheese frosting that I will add later tonight. Wanted to bake some sugar cookies and have the kids frost them with Easter colors.
Thanks.
Kelly

Hi Tammy,
Hope Regina likes all of her new treats!
My Mom did find the s/f Hershey chocolate bars at Giant Eagle grocery store. When I'm out and around tomorrow, I'm going to check out our store.

Kelly, I ordered the SF maple syrup from the link you provided. I also ordered the peanut butter and several different kinds of cookies. I was surprised when I got to the checkout and shipping was free. That was an unexpected bonus. Thanks for the site. We don't have Giant Eagle in our area. Saturday I will be out and about and I'll check out the stores we do have. Being so close to Hershey, I should find them. If not, I may put a call out to my brother who lives even closer than I do. Laura - Diet Pepsi bottles have a tendency to roll all the way to the screen, too.

I spotted the Hershey SF chocolates at my local grocery (I think it's called Country Market). If they have them there, they have them everywhere! They have malitol in them though, so it's a no-go for me. Malitol is also in the S/F Redvines. Kelly, I tolerate pretty much all Kalamata olives. I use them in Greek salads (and anything else that has feta cheese, like pasta salad, and Breakfast Mediterrano). If you want to be safe, though, it might be easiest to get them from the olive section and check the label. I haven't ran into any that made me sick, but that doesn't mean there aren't any. Amazingly, I have yet to try the no-bake cookies. I come up with these ideas and then completely forget about them. It's nice to hear that the recipe is good, though!

Tammy,
So glad that worked out for you. Extra plus is right that they waive the shipping charges!
Have any of you tried the Bake Majic coating mix. It's safe and great on chicken and pork. Lily loves it. Another thing to check out when you're at the store.

Laura,
Does malitol make you sick as if you ate something with sugar?
Lily is on the fence with just about everything except Sweet-tarts, Cheetos, and s/f chocolate pudding. I'm talking treatwise. She has a really great diet with all the other stuff.
Just curious how you reacted to malitol. Thanks. Kelly

My order from Josephs lite cookies came today. She liked the chocolate chip cookies, the oatmeal cookies were so-so. We're waiting until the weekend to make pancakes or waffles for the syrup. I also got the peanutbutter and almond cookies, but haven't gotten up the nerve to try them yet. Probably closer to the weekend, while I don't have to work.
I did find the Hersheys little chocolate bars. I managed to save them and I will put them in the plastic eggs for easter. The only Reese's peanut butter cups (also made by Hershey's) had sucralose in them. Bummer. I'll keep looking, though.

Hi Kelly Yeah, malitol makes me sick. I wasn't expecting to get sick, but I always do. I think I might be a bit more sensitive than others. In general, those of us that used to really like Sweettarts are on the fence about them. They don't list any sugars, but some of them (mainly all of them except the orange ones) taste "off." They all used to taste fine, then they introduced the blue sweettart, and everything went downhill from there. I'm presuming that they add some fruit juices to flavor the candy. She should be okay so long as you don't let her eat a whole big stick of sweettarts.
Other candies you can try are smarties, gobstoppers and pixie stix.

They all used to taste fine, then they introduced the blue sweettart, and everything went downhill from there. This is sooooo true. I also eat Bottle Caps and do fine with them.

Hi Laura and Julie,
Thanks for the information about the sweettarts. Lily LOVES bottlecaps. The only candy you mentioned that we haven't tried yet are the gobstoppers. Adding those to my list to buy.
Also thanks for the kalamata olives tip, they were a big hit this afternoon!

Hi Tammy,
Keep us posted as to what Regina thinks about peanut butter! Lily eats it occasionally. But she thinks it's a nice treat when she has it.
Also, glad to hear you tracked down the s/f Hershey chocolate bars!

The results are in. Well, some of them anyway.
The maple syrup wasn't so hot. Actually, I really didn't care for it either. Really strong maple flavor. Maybe if I dilute it a little first. I'm going to give it a try.
Peanuts. I finally took the plunge over the long holdiay weekend, knowing I would be off work in the worst case senario. She absolutely loves them. I can't keep her little hand out of the can now. I gave them to her on Friday, and reactions take 2 or 3 days for her. So we are safe now, and nothing. Yoo Hoo!! It's really funny watching her eat peanut butter. She likes it, asks for it, but she's just not sure how to get it out of her mouth. Of course I"m not laughing or anything while I'm watching her. ;D
I also have peanut butter cookies that I ordered with the maple syrup. I haven't opened them yet, waiting to be sure. I'm sure tonight they will be devoured. The oatmeal cookies were ok, but she preferred the chocolate chip.
The Hershey Candy Bars were put inside the plastic eggs. She thinks they are just the greatest. She keeps saying she's eating a chocolate candy BAR. I didn't realize that it was different than a chocolate shape of some sort. Boy is mom ever stupid at some things. We "hid" 30 eggs. We really don't hide them since she can't really find them. They only lay in the open next to things on the floor, on the couch, on the Tv, etc. We only found 29. Now remember - they aren't hidden. How can we lose an egg AGAIN? About 2 hours later, the one dog came up to me, with the missing egg in it's mouth. Guess they are too much like a ball. Must have thought she was in heaven, all those balls just laying around, waiting for her to play with.
Next up, olives. I'm sure they are going to be ok, but I have another question. The kind of olives that Dad likes are the little green spanish olives in the jar with pimentos. What about pimentos? I can just take it out if need be, but she would really like to just share the jar with Dad. Anybody have any idea on pimentos?

Pimentos are fine. I've been known to eat a whole jar of green olives with pimentos. Of course, afterwards I feel sick, but only from all that salt. My olive eating history goes: green olives with pimentos, black olives, kalamata olives. I've been eating the green ones since I could eat whole food.

I have a great chicken casserole recipe with pimentos as one of the ingredients. I always do fine with them. Granted, I'm not consuming large quantities of them, but they do add a nice flavor.
Glad the peanuts were a big hit with Regina!
