Has anyone ever tried tomatillos or green tomatoes? I thought I remembered someone saying they were OK with them, but maybe I was dreaming? ?
If you have eaten either w/no probs, how much and did you have it straight or mixed in something?

That might have been me. I LOVE tomatillos and the salsa they represent. I think salsa verde is made with tomatillos. They have 1.3g of sugar per serving, but it doesn't say what kind--guesstimate towards fructose. I'm not horribly sensitive, but I can't handle certain foods--and definitely not onions. In comparison, tomatoes have 3.9g of sugar (~60% fructose 40% glucose). I usually eat tomatillo salsa (salsa verde) with nachos or on a burrito. I might be eating it with enough glucose to cancel out the fructose.

I have been wondering about those too as a substitute for tomatos but didn't think someone would have tested the fructose level of them.

Mike: sarah also loves the tomatillos/pickled green tomatos. Sometimes she just bites into it and sucks the juice right out of the tomatillos. There is also a brand of the green salsa verde (in a plastic container) that is made w/o sugar that she uses

OK, I got some mild salsa verde from TJs that is without sugar. Not sure he will even try it, but will give it a go today. Plan to make some chilaquiles with chicken for dinner.
