Anyone, Where could I find sugar-free chocolate? Also, where do you guys get your Dextrose. Can anyone help with a daughter who may soon be going through puberty? Im noticing some low blood sugar more often than before. What would be a quick upper for this problem? yvonne

I can't help with the low blood sugar. It's not something I've had to deal with. But I can help with chocolate. Gertrude Hawks has a sugar free chocolate. They use the sugar alcohols which are deemed safe for HFI by Dr Tolan's sugar chart, but it may cause diarrhea for anyone if too much is eaten at once. Regina has a little every night before she goes to bed. Just watch if it is filled chocolate. Check what the filling is. Regina eats the "smidgens" and the SF choc covered pretzels. (the actual pretzel is also ok). I don't give her peanuts, so I have never checked out the peanut butter ones. If you don't have a store near you, you can order it online. www.gertrudehawkchocolates.com/I don't think they have everything online, but you could call and ask them. This is a local store, near me: www.puritycandy.com/They also have SF chocolate, but the pretzels they use DO contain corn syrup. But the plain SF Chocolate is ok. The nice thing about this place is that if you call them plenty in advance (like soon) they will make you a SF solid chocolate rabbit for Easter. They will also ship it for you. It's not real cheap, but for Easter it is always a real thrill to get a rabbit. They also make little lambs on a stick, like lollipops. It's just a small place, they only have 1 candy "line" so they can only make SF when they are making a whole day of it. That is why it's best to call early. As for dextrose, it can be ordered online from different places. I think some other links have been posted but here is one www.bulkfoods.com Just look under Baking, and then under sugars. You can also get it from "Brew your own beer" places. We have one locally that I can get it through. Also some local bakeries can order it for you. That is where I found it the first time. Hope this helps Tammy

Fred, Thanks for the reply. Both my kids seem to do better with five or six small meals a day. We usually have a big breakfast snack around 10ish lunch around noon snack at two-thirty dinner around 6:00 snack around 8ish. However, I have had a lot of control over this since both my kids attend the same school where I teach. Next year I may have a problem since my daughter will be going off to Middle School. I think I will always make sure she carries crackers. Another ? Were you slow on your height developement? Both my kids are on the 20th.% on the charts. Im only five-two and hundred five pounds however, my husband is six-one and one eighty.
thanks yvonne
